How long have you been training in Taekwondo? And what got you started?
I first started Taekwondo in the year 2000, after which I had a break and returned in 2005 and have been attending Taekwondo ever since. What got me started in Taekwondo was watching films that had great fighting in them and I wanted to be able to do that as well, so I went searching for a martial art I liked and I found Taekwondo.
Highlights of your Taekwondo success?
My highlights of Taekwondo include getting my black belt and first degree black belt, another would be my results in my first NAS competition, and lastly would be, being asked to run a hall and train students at a young age.
Describe your first black belt grading, and what it took to get you there?
My first black belt grading I found to be more exciting than anything else, I found it a chance to show off what I could do to many people at once, I went for black belt with about nine other people and it was a great feeling to be on show with friends all at once. To be ready for my black belt grading I found I had to train a lot harder and ask Instructors for lots of help.
How often do you train? In Taekwondo? Gym? etc
I do not do any extra training outside Taekwondo because I find it hard to find the time. For Taekwondo I train regularly, I train under Instructor John three lessons a week while I teach 2 lessons a week for my hall, and any extra classes like other halls or senior training I can find I try to attend when I am free.

What are your personal goals for the future?
My personal plans for my future involve more study to start my career in a job I enjoy, and am motivated to work and improve in as the years go on - the physical development or teaching industries are what I would like to be in. As for Taekwondo, my plans are to further my knowledge in the techniques and skills of Taekwondo; to increase my strength, speed and flexibility to help me improve physically and reach my goals; and to improve my instructing so that my students will continue receiving the best teaching they deserve.
Your favourite saying and what this means?
Slow down to improve. This means that if you slow down you can see mistakes you are doing and you can improve then speed up while improving.
Best advice you can give someone training and wishing to start training in Taekwondo?

To someone that wishes to start, give it a go, give it your best.
