How long have you been training in Taekwondo? And what got you started?
Since 2001, It ran in the family so I joined in at an early age.
Highlights of your Taekwondo success?
Successfully achieving my 1st and 2nd Dan and becoming a Branch Instructor.
Describe your first black belt grading, and what it took to get you there?
I started training four nights a week for about 1½ years and when the time came I successfully completed all my breaks, performed my pattern with passion and realism and after defending an onslaught of black belts, I selected to spar my brother (senior black belt) to complete my grading. It was a very intense and enjoyable at the same time.
How often do you train? In Taekwondo? Gym? etc.
I train and instruct four nights per week, Instruct three afternoons per week and go rock climbing occasionally
Favourite Taekwondo move or moves?
Superman punch and jumping off a wall and performing a turning kick
What are your goals in Taekwondo for 2012/2013?
I have recently been appointed as a branch instructor and so my goals are to expand the hall and become more confident as an Instructor.
What would you like to see more of or less of in United Taekwondo that could benefit members?
Separate adult classes, so I can focus on advance techniques.
Has Taekwondo benefited home life? If so in what way?
Yes, because it has been a close bonding point between my father and me.
Your favourite saying and what this means?
“Be the change you wish to see in the world” Ghandi. Lead by example.
Best advice you can give someone training and wishing to start training in Taekwondo?
Stick strongly to your goals, stay positive and nothing is unachievable.
What other activities apart from Taekwondo do you enjoy?
Parkour, Rock Climbing, Grappling, Stick Fighting, listening to music, hanging with friends, tennis and table tennis
Favourite movie(s) and why?
“NEVER BACK DOWN”
It is very inspirational and encourages us to never give up.

5 Years – 3rd Dan Black Belt
10 Years – 4th Dan Black Belt and Chief Instructor of an area
